Whitefish Arts Council Mission
The mission of the Whitefish Arts Council (WAC) is to promote and facilitate a strong and vibrant artistic community. And if you know anything about Whitefish, you know that the arts are thriving in our amazing mountain town. From theater and musical productions and edgy comedic cabarets to visual arts in studios and galleries, Whitefish is on the cutting edge of all things artistic.
The WAC is working to promote our multi-talented artists and arts organizations, be a sounding board for new projects or ideas and achieve maximum usage of all potential performance venues. As a public service to our community, WAC is developing an on-line master calendar to provide information about Whitefish arts events to locals as well as tourists. Our plan is to advertise this calendar in poster form as well, to catch visitors to our town who are looking for a special evening activity.
In addition, the Whitefish Arts Council has secured the licensing agreement to broadcast The MET: Live in HD at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center in the Middle School auditorium on 2nd and Spokane. The season consists of ten live performances (on Saturday mornings) that are simultaneously being broadcast to millions of opera fans in over 35 countries.
The Whitefish Arts Council was recognized as exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in a determination letter Issued in February 2013.
